After Hours 740 is hosted by Hypnotised and guest DJ Dimas Mixon

After Hours 740 on Scientific Sound Asia sees Hypnotised at the helm for another edition of the long-running Progressive House series. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, publishing music news while connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

Hypnotised is a DJ, producer and label head from Ghent, Belgium whose sets are built around atmosphere, gradual progression and layered melodic development. His connection with underground electronic music was shaped through early appearances at events including I Love Techno and 10 Days of Techno, experiences that helped form an approach favouring depth and controlled momentum over immediate impact.

That background eventually drew him towards the deeper and more melodic side of Progressive House. His selections give individual tracks room to develop, with extended transitions and carefully managed changes in energy creating continuity across longer sets.

After Hours, co-hosted with PatriZe, has become one of the principal outlets for that approach. The programme reaches listeners through TM Radio in the USA, XBeat across Europe, Cosmos Radio in Germany and Scientific Sound Asia, connecting the series with Progressive House audiences in several regions.

Hypnotised and PatriZe also present AH Digital Essentials on Proton Radio, where they showcase new material connected with the label and the wider progressive scene. Alongside that shared programme, Hypnotised hosts Energetic on Progressive Beats Radio and uses his different broadcasts to introduce emerging producers as well as established artists.

Radio has therefore become closely connected with his wider activity as a selector, producer and label manager. Each platform gives him space to explore new music while maintaining the patient pacing and melodic focus that characterise his own DJ sets.

As co-founder and label manager of AH Digital, Hypnotised has helped develop an imprint centred on melodic, atmospheric and underground Progressive House. The label supports both established producers and newer names while maintaining a clear musical identity built around depth, movement and dancefloor function.

His own studio work follows many of the same principles. Rather than placing melody above rhythm, his productions use both together, allowing tension and emotional detail to develop within arrangements designed to maintain forward movement.

Recent work with PatriZe includes their remix of Weird Things on AH Digital. The collaboration combines flowing melodic elements with restrained tension and measured energy, reflecting the musical relationship the pair have developed through production, radio and label activity.

Hypnotised has also reinterpreted Blissing for SINCITY, taking his Progressive House approach into another label environment. His work on Classico with Selected Grooves for OLD SQL Recordings further demonstrates an interest in careful arrangement and gradual progression.

A collaborative remix with Frank Savio of The Master of Time and Thoughts for COMET Records adds another direction to his recent output. Across these projects, emotional depth and melodic movement remain closely connected with the rhythmic structure rather than appearing as decorative elements around it.

That same balance carries directly into his work on After Hours. Longer transitions, controlled pacing and a preference for deeper records allow each first-hour session to develop steadily while maintaining the underground Progressive House identity associated with the programme.

Guest DJ Dimas Mixon.

This week on After Hours, the guest is Dimas Mixon, a Progressive House DJ and producer from Sevastopol, Crimea. His sound is rooted in patient development, melodic detail and the deeper side of Progressive House, with long-form structures and measured rhythms providing the foundation for both his productions and DJ sets.

His interest in DJing began during his school years when he organised his first school disco and started meeting DJs from the local scene. From there, he learned through hands-on experience with DJ equipment and began developing his own understanding of club music and set construction.

Dimas later started publishing mixes through the Russian PromoDJ platform, where his Progressive House sets gained increasing attention. His work reached the platform's genre charts, helping him build an audience beyond his immediate local surroundings.

An important step came through his connection with Sergey Barybin, who invited Dimas to perform in support at Z-City. That appearance became a turning point in his development as a working DJ and strengthened his involvement with the regional electronic music community.

Radio has also played an important role in his activity, including regular appearances on Sevastopol FM and a residency with internet station Fusion Radio. In 2017, he launched the weekly Progressive Soul podcast, creating a recurring outlet for the deeper and melodic music at the centre of his sets.

Production followed naturally from that DJ and radio background, and over the following years Dimas developed a catalogue concentrated heavily around Progressive House. His releases have appeared through labels including Massive Harmony Records, OLD SQL Recordings, Consapevole Recordings, Z.CITY Records, Sydana Sounds, Time Gate, Stazis, NEO and Summer Melody.

His output has become particularly active, but rather than relying on volume alone, several recent releases show the direction his music has taken. Cairo on Consapevole Recordings, One Moment on Stazis and Closed The Road on LW Recordings all work around the 120 BPM range, favouring deeper movement and gradual melodic development.

A three-track run on NEO with Soul Shifter, Road To Cosmos and State Of Mind demonstrated another side of that approach. The material moves between reflective melodic passages and stronger progressive momentum while remaining tightly connected to the genre's deeper underground structure.

Collaboration has also become part of his recent studio work. The Voice of the Universe with Ocean of Emotion appeared through Magic Room with additional versions from MiekeJames and Atique, extending the original idea through several interpretations without losing its Progressive House foundation.

Dimas has also become increasingly active as a remixer. His recent reinterpretations include Sergey Baribyn's Traffic, Illarion's Shrine, Technogen and OdiEsti's Anxiety, and Waves by NAV (RU) and Sanders Soul.

His relationship with AH Digital is represented by Beautiful Things, a Progressive House production released with a substantial remix package. Olven, NAV (RU), osa777 and Paul Us Dj each contributed their own versions, giving the track several different rhythmic and melodic readings around Dimas Mixon's original.

That release sits comfortably within the deeper musical identity surrounding both AH Digital and After Hours. Dimas is also expected back on the label shortly, continuing a connection that places his work alongside producers focused on melodic, atmospheric and underground Progressive House.

August 2026 has been another active period for him, with White Nights on Stazis and the Paranoia Rework 2026 on Z.CITY Records adding to his catalogue. Further forthcoming activity includes his remix of DJ Leoni's Hermeneutic Circle for Consapevole Recordings and Extras on PLEN Records.

Despite the size of his catalogue, a clear musical identity runs through much of the material. Tempos generally remain restrained, while melody, atmosphere and carefully controlled tension carry the music forward rather than exaggerated drops or abrupt changes.

DJ Hypnotised opens the first hour of After Hours 740 with K Loveski's "Somiya" on Progresivo Records, immediately setting a patient Progressive House course shaped by melodic tension and steady rhythmic movement. Toledo's remix of Michael A's "Subconscious" and Hobin Rude's "Crying Moon" deepen that opening mood, allowing the set to build gradually rather than rushing towards its heavier moments.

Redfern and Rivvo continue with "Magnetic Fields" before Anton Make's remix of Cary Crank's "Fragments Of A Trip" opens the arrangement into a broader and more expansive passage. Cendryma's remix of Phillosopher's "The Divinity Experience", AndrewzVee's "Eclipse" and Samuel's remix of Mateo Tapia's "Sound Creates Form" sustain the momentum, with Trifonov S and Yohai Mor rounding off DJ Hypnotised's hour through another run of controlled melodic progression.

DJ Dimas Mixon takes over the second hour with two of his own productions, "Fragments" and "Dream Of You", giving his section an immediate personal identity before Dion Paola's "Resonance" on 3rd Avenue continues the flow. Lucho Bragagnolo's remix of Mike Suntower and Amháin's remix of Ignacio Hernández and Marcos Vidou keep the set moving through detailed percussion and long-form transitions without breaking its progressive focus.

Dimas Mixon's "Beautiful Things" appears twice in the second hour, first through Osa777's remix and later in its original form, framing Aler's "Rising Kelly" and "Atoms Of Feelings" in the middle of the sequence. Fauxplay and Anthony Pappa close the episode with Simon Vuarambon's remix of "Forever Seeking" on Early Morning, bringing a fully progressive two-hour programme to a smooth and considered finish.

Please set a reminder for the live house music radio show scheduled for Monday, August 10th, 2026, from 10:00 PM to midnight Indochina Time (ICT). If you're unable to listen live, the replay will be accessible on Friday from 10:00 AM to noon (ICT).
