After Hours 735 features PatriZe and guest DJ DaveXombie

After Hours 735 on Scientific Sound Asia is hosted by PatriZe with guest DJ DaveXombie, continuing the long-running series with another session focused on the deeper and more progressive side of electronic music. Scientific Sound Asia operates as an Asian electronic music radio station, DJ agency and promoter, publishing music news while connecting underground artists and listeners across the region and internationally.

PatriZe is a Belgian DJ and producer based in Thailand whose musical development began with early Trance and Techno before moving towards Progressive House and melodic electronic music. His sets favour extended structures, gradual shifts in energy and layered arrangements, allowing tracks to develop naturally across longer mixes.

An important early milestone came in 2010 when he won the Night Museum DJ Competition in France. The result earned him an opening slot for Guy J and helped broaden his international profile at a formative stage of his career.

Working alongside artists including Pole Folder and Guy J further developed his technical approach and understanding of musical pacing. Those influences became increasingly apparent as his sound moved deeper into Progressive House and away from the more direct structures of his earlier Trance and Techno background.

In 2015, PatriZe co-founded AH Digital with Hypnotised as an independent outlet for underground Progressive House and melodic electronic music. The label's debut release, Inhabitants of Another Realm, entered the Beatport Top 20 and gave the project early visibility within the international Progressive House scene.

AH Digital subsequently became an important part of PatriZe's work as both an artist and curator. The label allows him to release his own material while also supporting producers working within deeper, melodic and progressive areas of electronic music.

Collaboration with Hypnotised has remained a regular part of his studio activity. Their remix of Michael A's Ignition appeared on AH Digital in early 2025, followed by their reworking of Nikoow's Weird Things, which appeared through the label across late 2025 and into 2026.

These productions complement the approach PatriZe brings to his radio sets, where progression and patience remain central. Rather than concentrating on rapid changes or obvious peak-time moments, he gives individual tracks room to establish their rhythm, melody and atmosphere before moving into the next section.

Alongside his international radio commitments, PatriZe remains active within Thailand's underground electronic music circuit. His appearances have included events at Beachspot, Thai Lounge and Terrace in Pattaya, maintaining a direct connection with club audiences while continuing his wider work through AH Digital.

As host of After Hours, PatriZe has developed the programme around considered track selection and extended Progressive House mixing. Episode 735 continues that approach, with the first hour providing another carefully paced session from a DJ whose work as a selector, producer and label co-founder remains closely tied to the deeper end of underground House music.

Guest DJ DaveXombie.

This week on After Hours, we welcome Argentina-based musician, composer and producer DaveXombie for a guest session rooted in deep, hypnotic and progressive electronic music. DaveXombie's musical background extends well beyond electronic production, with years spent working across pop, rock, metal, alternative music and other styles.

Those different experiences have shaped an approach based on combining textures and ideas from multiple sources while electronic music has gradually become the principal focus of his current work. From childhood onwards, music provided a route through changing influences rather than a single fixed genre identity.

His recent productions bring those experiences together through Progressive House, deeper rhythmic structures and carefully controlled melodic development. His recorded catalogue began establishing that direction in 2025 with White Summer on Balkan Connection South America, followed later that year by Moon Theory and The Game on the same label.

Both releases strengthened his Progressive House profile through measured tempos, melodic detail and the patient arrangements that have become central to his production style. Shiva Dance on Anoka moved into Organic House, bringing another side of DaveXombie's influences into focus. Its organic rhythmic character demonstrated that his work could move outside straight Progressive House while retaining the deeper atmosphere linking much of his catalogue.

The end of 2025 also saw another version of Moon Theory appear through Balkan Connection South America before Strange Lights arrived on Tunnel Label in January 2026. These releases continued a run of Progressive House material built around restrained tempos and gradual development rather than oversized drops or abrupt structural changes.

In April 2026, Hugs appeared through AH Digital Compilations and added another Progressive House production to his growing discography. The track continued the melodic and groove-led direction heard across his earlier material while strengthening his connection with labels operating within the deeper international House scene.

DaveXombie subsequently joined Martin Di Sciascio to remix RNDØM's Fantasy for SINCITY, released in July 2026. The collaboration placed his production approach inside another artist's work, combining the original material with the deeper Progressive House language that runs through his own releases.

His next project, Anomalies, is scheduled for release on DLK on 21 August 2026 and expands his catalogue with two originals and two remixes. The release contains Anomalies and Be Real, alongside an Ariel Stamile remix of Anomalies and a Leandro Dizeo remix of Be Real.

Both original tracks sit at 122 BPM and remain firmly within Progressive House, while the remixers offer alternative interpretations of the material. Ariel Stamile retains the 122 BPM pace on Anomalies, while Leandro Dizeo brings Be Real down to 120 BPM and gives the project another variation in movement and pacing.

Taken together, DaveXombie's releases show a clear concentration around Progressive House while leaving space for Organic House and broader electronic influences. Balkan Connection South America, Anoka, Tunnel Label, AH Digital Compilations, SINCITY and DLK have each provided homes for different stages of that developing catalogue.

PatriZe opens the first hour of After Hours 735 with Juan Buitrago's "Forever Mover" on Balance Music, setting a measured Progressive House pace built around long transitions, melodic tension and steady rhythmic movement. Hiram Scoffield's "Balandra" in the Dion Paola remix and Saya's "Lumora" reworked by Dex deepen that early direction, while AH Digital quickly establishes a strong presence in the selection.

Lucho Bragagnolo and Chicato continue with "Synthetica" before Gil MT's "Inner Phase" and Redspace's "Don't Think" keep the first hour moving through darker melodic shades and restrained club pressure. Hobin Rude's "Crying Moon", remixed by Nicolas Benedetti, leads into AndrewzVee's take on SHERRNX & TEO's "Nyvara", preserving the gradual build before Juani Bria and Michael A bring PatriZe's section towards a focused conclusion.

DaveXombie takes control of the second hour with Cristian Hidalgo and Fefo Carfagna's "Groonature", followed by Nicholas Van Orton and Frezz on Balkan Connection South America, giving his opening run a deeper and more driving character. RNDØM's remix of Don Creek's "Open Eyes" then leads into DaveXombie's own "Moon Theory", establishing a clear connection between his DJ selection and production work.

That connection continues with RNDØM's "Fantasy" in the Martin Di Sciascio and Dave Xombie remix, followed by DaveXombie's "Hugs" and the darker pull of Chelakhov's "Embrace The Darkness" in Noe Bortolussi's remix. DaveXombie returns once more with "Strange Lights" before HOT TUNEIK and Sarah Chilanti's "Soul On Fire", Nikoow's "Weird Things" and Dmitry Molosh's "Somebody Else" complete a second hour rooted firmly in progressive movement and sustained melodic tension.
